Digging for something new
Shelved work that’s way past due
Opportunity has finally arrived
It’s time to decide what survives

The writer’s like an architect
Building a universe
A scavenging hyena
Laughing mad while dying of thirst

Sometimes the writer creates a
Burdening curse
Just one more line will
Fill out this verse

A mad genius is born and
Redefines
What we all once thought were lies
Are now as common as mushroom cloud skies

It don’t take no Einstein
To realize

We all have good days that
Fall on the bad
By the time that it pays we’ll
Probably be dead but

We’ll do it anyway
Even if no-one hears what is said because
Even on good days
People are going unfed

It’s left in the backwoods
On living data based minds
The electric wire lines
Replace the once living pines

I’m no longer an animal
Swinging from vines
Still I have fight or flight reactions
In a world behind mini-blinds

I’m not safe with this big mouth
I’d rather die than hide in my house
It’s a lesson to anyone who closes their doors
And shuts their eyes
